All medical schools are looking for students who are properly prepared to undertake one of the tough
est and longest courses.
Prospects in the City is able to help with that preparation by offering students real experience with real professionals in the medical field inLondon.
Our unique two day intensive programme will cover all aspects of the medical profession and students will learn first hand what it is like to work as a doctor, dentist, pharmacist, surgeon and optician. Students will visit hospitals and medical practices as part of this experience.
The programme will also cover the application procedure, how to shine at interview, and resources that can help.
The programme is aimed at students in Year 11 and 13 and will provide information that will improve their chances of getting on to a medical degree or improve their chances at interview.
Nationally only 52% of applicants receive a place to study medicine. Medical Careers in Practise will provide students with the practical experience necessary to improve chances of selection.
The programme will be run by medical professionals, university admissions tutors and specialist careers advisers.
When: Tuesday February 14th and Wednesday February 15th 2012
Time: Each day will start at 9.30 and finish at 4.30
Cost: £200 including vat
We endeavour to keep the group size small to enhance the experience, so places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis
Prospects in the City’s first Construction Walk took place in October, and was a hit with staff and students alike!
The morning was based at Skanska’s site at Barts Hospital in the City. After the introduction to the day, Skanska’s site manager showed a short video about the site and its development. Students were given a presentation about the stages of discussion, planning, and implementation, as well as the jobs available to school leavers and graduates.

“Prospects in the City’s 2011 Summer School was a great success! Students from around the country took part in five days of City walks focusing on three competitive career areas, finance, law and media. Visits and presentations from some of the most high profile institutions in the City enabled students to gain insights into some of these hard to access areas. Read more ……….
