Back on Track is a scheme to help support young people from Barking & Dagenham, Hackney, and Greenwich. Students will take part in a series of activities – one of which will be a themed walk organised by Prospects in the City.
These themes include:
Olympic Industries – Visit the View Tube overlooking the Olympic Park for an interactive session relating to the development of the area, followed by a tour. Later visit Westfield Shopping Centre for an insight into Retail opportunities, and a fact-filled tour of the development.
Construction – Visit a working Construction site in Central London, to hear about apprenticeships and training opportunities. They will gain access to the viewing platforms and witness how the construction companies are transforming the London sky line.
Hair, Beauty & Fashion – Meet some of the lecturers at London’s prestigious College of Fashion, have a go at some of the beauty therapy treatments at London College of Beauty Therapy, and hear from trained hairdressers about apprenticeships and working life.
“Thanks to every person who sponsored this and helped to put this trip together.” – Barking & Dagenham College student – Olympic Industries Walk – 29th November 11
